The Department of Work Science at Göteborg University is a cross-disciplinary department for studies of working life in a broad sense of the word, including many aspects of Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management and work organisation. The department employs about 20 staff, with the total number of students per year amounting to approximately 150-200 people enrolled in four different programmes. The department has many international contacts and runs a BA course in international working life studies in English for both foreign and domestic students. Furthermore, the department has established many contacts with various actors and stakeholders in western Sweden, in particular with trade unionists, but also with small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the Department of Work Science has profound experience and knowledge in carrying out work-related research on the national and international level.
